  • Waverly Loves Art

Take a stroll around Waverly Main Street and keep an eye out for more than a dozen murals adorning the walls of buildings in our district.  Use the murals as a guide through Waverly- a neighborhood muralist Tom Chalkey describes as, a “colorful, noisy, very stimulating environment…funky…ethnically diverse with interesting little shops.” We’re especially proud of Waverly’s latest mural. Designed by world renowned street artist, Gaia, the installation spans all three walls of the building located at 3011 Greenmount Avenue and serves as a gorgeous and unavoidable welcome into the Waverly Main Street District.

  • Peabody Heights Brewery

Since 2012 Peabody Heights Brewery has been cultivating good brews, first as a contract brewery then with their own beers beginning three years later.  PHB (as it’s affectionately called) added an indoor tasting room and an outdoor beer garden, giving patrons an excellent place to congregate.

Fun facts: The site was home to Terrapin Park from 1914-1944. The Park was a wooden stadium that hosted various teams including the Negro American League Baltimore Elite Giants, Federal League Baltimore Terrapins, and minor league Baltimore Orioles.

  • Waverly Welcomes You

The architecture here is unique and diverse: from painted Italianate-style rowhomes tobeautiful Victorian influenced houses to daylight-style rowhomes. • Pete’s Grill

Corner diner Pete’s Grill has been a Baltimore landmark for over 50 years. Drawing a diverse crowd of locals, college students and old-timers, Pete’s continues to satisfy patrons with breakfast and lunch offerings served at a diner-style counter to patrons on chrome barstools. A frequent winner of “Baltimore’s Best Breakfast”, Pete’s Grill specializes in traditional, Southern breakfast fare.

A number of other Waverly businesses have endured since the last century, including the Thai Restaurant, Herman’s Discount, Normal’s and Waverly Crabs.
